Alastair Brain is the new head of Myddelton & Major's residential lettings department.

He takes over the reins from Doreen Murray, who retired mid-July after 12 years at the helm.
Alastair has been with Myddelton & Major in Salisbury for nearly five years, including more than three years as a negotiator with the residential sales team and, latterly, developing the residential lettings arm.
The team, based at the firm's office in 49 High Street, provides lettings and full management services for around 60 properties in and around Salisbury, from historic houses to contemporary apartments. Services include free market appraisals and advice, marketing, conducted viewings, tenant selection, introductions and referencing, tenancy agreement preparation and arranging routine repairs and maintenance. Up to a further 30 homes are serviced as lettings-only.
Paul Cadge, a partner at the residential division of Myddelton and Major, said: "This is a well-deserved promotion for Alastair and acknowledges the contribution he has made to the success of residential lettings and the firm as a whole, which ultimately benefits all of our clients."

Alastair, a graduate of Edinburgh University with an MA in Politics, is a father-of-two who lives near Salisbury.
He laid down roots in the cathedral city after arriving as a stage manager at the Playhouse in the late 1990s before following in his father's footsteps as a property professional.
Away from work, he enjoys walking, tennis, golf and sailing.
